About Gemak
An old word for a furnished room.
Gemak is a Swedish word from the seventeenth century for a stately, carefully furnished room. That is what we deliver, whether it is a hotel or a cabin village.
The experience behind it
Gemak is run by Umbr AB in Boden, Sweden. Behind it sits long experience of sourcing, product development, production and quality control in China for companies in Europe and the United States. Gemak points the same knowledge at furniture and interiors.
Our own presence in China
We have our own company, with our own staff and our own warehouse, in Shenzhen, close to Foshan. That is where inspection happens, where goods from different manufacturers are brought together, and where the contracts with manufacturers are signed.
Swedish project management
Projects are run from Sweden. You have one contact throughout, who understands both European requirements and how production actually works on the ground.
Where we are
Projects are run from Boden in northern Sweden. Inspection happens in China, from our own office and warehouse in Shenzhen, with manufacturing in Foshan within a day trip.
